NASSAM2023

Welcome to Heaven….Almost

We are so glad that you have chosen to spend your vacation with us here in West Virginia. We have been at work planning activities for you to see and do this week. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to enhance your experience. This Welcome Packet should contain all the information you need for the week. Please remember that none of us are professional event planners. We want your stay to be safe, memorable and enjoyable. We dedicate this Meet to the memory of our departed “MKC family:” Jan Clabuesch, Harland Hoxsey, Tad & Jackie Muscott, Matt Rassenfoss, Mike Reynolds, Roger Spaulding – and to all departed Kappa family members. We know they are here with us in spirit.

Watch for updates here and on our Facebook event page: “18th North American Solstice and Sky Annual Meet 2023 (June 19-24)” as we count down to NASSAM 2023. West Virginia is the only state completely within the Appalachian Mountain range, aptly given the nickname of the Mountain State. 80% of the state is covered by forests, the Monongahela National Forest covering nearly a million acres. The New River is actually one of the oldest in the world and unusually flows from south to north because it was formed before the mountains. West Virginia is located within a day’s drive from 75% of the US population, yet remains an untouched gem among outdoor enthusiasts.

Given the potential size of this meet, we have a great need for Road Captains. Consider answering the call. Every route will have Garmin GPS directions and written turn-by-turn directions to aid you. Although the event hotel is nearly full at this time, there are plenty of overflow opportunities within ¾ of a mile of the host hotel. We look forward to welcoming you to NASSAM 2023!
